Save Star Trek: Enterprise!

To recap what has been discussed in my thread on www.TrekUnited.com (http://www.trekunited.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=504), I'll post what we're aiming to accomplish here.

I am a federal lobbyist based in Washington, DC. While my firm is not officially endorsing this project, I am donating my skills to the cause.

The Letter

The letter I have drafted will hopefully be signed by a number of Senators and Members of Congress, as it expresses their "concern" over the fact that Enterprise is being canceled. It is a thorough letter, and draws on my knowledge of what is important to politicians.

The Goal

The goal is not to enact a bill or any kind of law. After all, there is no way to legally force a network to produce a show. What we're instead hoping to accomplish is to have this letter gain publicity for our cause. Imagine what an effect it would have for the executives at Paramount to know that there are Members of Congress asking that the show be spared. It would certainly (and hopefully) make them sit up and take notice. We're hoping that the media will pick up on this effort, and show the world that we're not kidding around - we're serious!

Your Mission

Unfortunately (actually, quite fortunately), before politicians decide to do anything, they'll want to make sure they have the support of people in their home state/district. This is where you come in. I need you all to contact your legislators and ask if they will sign this letter. If you're serious, I'll email you a copy of the letter. I can't post it publically until someone signs it - otherwise people can twist it before it gains support. But I can't do this without you.

Orders

Your orders are to contact me, I'll tell you who your Rep. is and give you a copy of the letter. You are then to proceed to your nearest phone (or Congressional office) to convince your legislator! Once we get the first signature - others will follow!
