Virginia is Busted on 40 Years of Illegally Ticketing Motorists

Remember back in the days before Virginia Gov. Gilmore (R) lowered the car tax, when it was profitable for the state and local police to go trawling through private apartment and condo parking lots looking for car-tax and inspection scofflaws so that they could ticket them? Those of you who were here before 2000 know what I'm talking about.

And even since then, thousands of Virginians have waken up only to find that they have been the victim of such obscene ticketing while they slept.

Well, I'm happy to report that the Virginia high court has ruled that over 4 decades worth of such ticketing was done illegally. This means, the state might potentially owe hundreds of thousands of its citizens a big, fat refund. The catch is that you need to make yourself heard to get it.
